As Christmas approaches, the world feels alive with anticipation. Twinkling lights illuminate our homes, joyful melodies fill the air, and hearts are drawn to the wonder of giving and receiving. For those of us in the ABBA family, this season carries an even deeper meaning—a celebration of the greatest gift ever given: Jesus Christ, God’s Son, born into this world to bring hope, redemption, and love.
A Gift of Eternal Significance
More than two thousand years ago, God chose to send His Son into the world as a baby, born to Mary, a young woman with a heart full of faith and courage. Jesus’ humble beginnings in a stable remind us that God often works in ways we least expect. The birth of Christ wasn’t just a historical moment; it was a divine adoption plan. God sent His Son to make a way for us to be adopted into His family. Through Jesus, we’re offered the most extraordinary gift of all: eternal life, unconditional love, and belonging.
The Apostle Paul beautifully captures this truth in Galatians 4:4-5:
“But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.”
Adoption isn’t just a legal or earthly process—it’s a reflection of God’s heart. It’s a story of redemption, sacrifice, and unconditional love.
Adoption: A Reflection of the Christmas Story
At the ABBA family, we see God’s hand at work every day as families are united through adoption. The stories of brave mothers who choose life for their children and of loving families who open their hearts and homes are powerful reminders of the Christmas story. Like Mary, birth mothers make selfless, courageous choices out of love for their child. Like Joseph, adoptive parents embrace the call to love a child who may not share their DNA but who is unquestionably a part of their family.
Every adoption is a reflection of the Gospel—the act of choosing, loving, and bringing someone into your family forever. It mirrors the way God has chosen us to be His children. What an incredible reminder of His love during this season!

At Christmas, we celebrate not just the birth of Jesus but also the hope He brings to our lives. His love gives us a sense of belonging, purpose, and an eternal home.
