More About Our Mission and Faith
Our Mission Statement
Abba Adoption Agency’s mission and purpose is to place infants and children who are in need of permanency into home study approved christian adopted homes that hold to the same biblical principles and like-mindedness of the agency. To come alongside of birth families that find themselves in an unplanned pregnancy and are in need of making those permanent placement plans for their child and demonstrate the love of Christ by offering guidance, support and counseling. In addition, to be an active participant in the community in educating the public on adoption, family, and children from biblical perspective.
Our Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative word of God.
We believe there is one God eternally existent, revealed to us in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, was born of a virgin, and lived a sinless life; that He performed miracles; that by His death on the cross He made provision for the redemption of men from sin; that He ascended into Heaven to the right hand of God; and that He will return in power and glory to judge the world and complete His redemptive purpose.
We believe the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, He inspired men to write the scriptures, enables men to understand truth, exalts Christ, convicts of sin, calls men to the savior, and effects regeneration. We believe He empowers believers to live godly lives, comforts believers, and bestows spiritual gifts on believers by which they serve Him.
We believe that, for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration (the conviction of sin, repentance toward God, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ) by the Holy Spirit is essential.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. We believe the saved are resurrected unto life everlasting and the lost are resurrected unto eternal condemnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of redeemed believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and in the scriptural importance of church membership and active involvement.
We believe every christian is under obligation to seek to make the will of God supreme in his own life and in human society. We believe it is our responsibility and privilege to minister to those who are orphaned, in need, and helpless, being careful to act with redemptive love without compromising our loyalty to Christ and His Truth.
Our Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality
We believe that God wonderfully and immutably created each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. (Gen. 1:26-27) Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.
We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in scripture (Gen. 2:18-25). We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. (1 Cor. 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb. 13:4). We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of marriage between a man and a woman.
Because God has ordained marriage and defined it as a covenant relationship between a man and a woman and himself, Abba Adoption will only recognize marriages between biological man and biological woman.
We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God. (Matt. 15:18-20; 1 Cor. 6:9-10)
We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of Abba Adoption, and to provide a biblical role model to Abba Adoption’s staff, clients and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by, contracted by, serving as volunteers, foster families, clients and/or seeking adoption or foster services or representing Abba Adoption in any capacity, agree to abide by this statement on marriage, gender and sexuality. (Matt. 5:16; Phil. 2:14-16; 1 Thess. 5:22)
We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. (Acts 3:19-21; Rom. 10:9-10; 1 Cor. 6:9-11)
We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31) Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with scripture nor the doctrines of Abba Adoption.
Our Statement on the Sanctity of Human Life
We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. (Ps. 139)
